Welcome to the Bedford Child Development Center.

Our Mission Statement

With the support of families and the community, we will provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of children from 6 weeks to school age.

Our Program Philosophy

Bedford Child Development Center is a developmentally based childcare center.  We believe that all children and their families should have available to them, a program that provides a high quality, developmentally appropriate childcare program.

We are also a play-based center.  We believe that children's play is a primary vehicle for their mental growth.  Play enables children to progress along a developments sequence of growth.  Therefore, child-initiated, child-directed, teacher-supported play is an essential component of our developmentally appropriate program.

In order to meet the needs of the developing child and provide quality care, the staff at Bedford Child Development Center strives to:

• Provide a healthy and safe environment.

• Provide a secure, comfortable, enjoyable and responsive environment.

• Respect, accept, and appreciate each child and family.

• Provide learning opportunities designed to promote the total growth and development of each child

• Encourage each child's independence, autonomy and self discipline.

• Maintain an environment free of racial or sexual role bias, stereotype, or prejudice.
