Statement of Philosophy
Trinity Lutheran
School is a vital part of the mission and
ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church to its
members and to the greater community. In
particular, the role of the school is that
of assisting parents in the education,
guidance and encouragement of their children
in matters both spiritual and secular.
Objectives (Pre K-8)
Trinity
Lutheran School is an integral part of the
ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church. The
purpose of Trinity Lutheran School is to
provide Christian education in partnership
with parents so that...
...children will
learn to appreciate themselves as persons of
worth, children of God who are made in His
image;
...children will
see themselves as sinners who have been
forgiven through the redemption of Christ,
and who now freely and fully forgive others;
...children will
commit themselves to service to God through
service to their fellow human beings;
...children will
be witnessing Christians who proclaim Christ
through word and actions.
It is our aim
to nurture and instruct our pupils so that
students of Trinity Lutheran School will
become young men and women who...
...have acquired
a basic foundation of knowledge and concepts
in all curricular areas, and have developed
skills that enable them to gain access to
information needed;
...enjoy
learning and recognize it as a lifelong
challenge and pursuit;
...appreciate
the arts and the diversity of cultures among
God's created peoples;
...apple sound
techniques of decision-making and accept
responsibility for their decisions and
actions;
...are empowered
by the Holy Spirit;
...celebrate all
of life as a joyful act of worship and
praise to God.
Credo
We believe
that Christian Education...
is essential for
the Church to fulfill its responsibility of
spreading the Gospel to all people;
...enables the
individual to develop a closer relationship
with God and His Word;
...will develop
the role of the individual in transferring
the infinite love of God to his fellow man;
...provides the
individual with a Christian perspective that
will enable him or her to distinguish and
reconcile the spiritual and secular aspects
of life;
...accomplishes
its purposes through the impetus and power
of the Holy Spirit. |
